Brendan is a Venture Fellow and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Santé, in a combined role with Oxford Science Enterprises, where he focuses on identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities across the MedTech landscape, with a particular interest in early-stage medical device companies.

A physician by training and an innovator at heart, Brendan spent the early part of his career practicing clinical medicine before pivoting to medical device innovation. He is a Fellow of BioInnovate Ireland, the international affiliate of Stanford Biodesign, and subsequently held a Research Fellowship at NUI Galway, where he co-developed a novel orthopaedic technology that became the foundation for his company.

Brendan co-founded Loci Orthopaedics, a multi-award winning medical device company developing innovative implant technologies to address unmet clinical needs in orthopaedic extremities, serving first as CEO and subsequently as Executive Chairperson. During his tenure he raised over $25M in a mix of equity and non-dilutive grant funding — a testament to both the strength of the technology and his ability to build conviction among investors and funding bodies. He is a named inventor on over 70 granted patents worldwide.

Prior to his current role, Brendan served as Head of Consulting, MedTech at EY, where he advised medical device companies and healthcare stakeholders across strategy, commercial, and market access. He has also served as a Guest Lecturer on the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice Programme at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
