Biography

Michael has decades of experience in investing in and growing businesses from an early stage.

Prior to joining Santé Ventures, he co-founded Palamon Capital Partners, a European growth capital partnership managing over $2 billion, served 14 years as a Partner with Warburg Pincus LLC opening their first international offices and before that was a Management Consultant with McKinsey & Co. in the US, a Partner with Arthur D. Little International in Europe and Managing Partner of Booz Allen in the Asia-Pacific region over a 14 year period.

Michael was Founding Chairman of the President’s International Advisory Board of The University of Texas at Austin, Chairman of the Board of Advisors of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, a Trustee of The George Washington University in DC and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Michael is a Member of the New York Council On Foreign Relations and in the UK has served as Chairman of the Philharmonia Orchestra, and as a Board Director of The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Shakespeare Globe Theatre, The Museum of London, and The Science Museum. Michael is a recipient of two Honorary Degrees and in 2017 was granted “The Freedom of the City of London:” Michael earned an MBA from Harvard University, an MA in International economics from Columbia University and a BA, cum laude from The University of Texas
